Profhilo in Buxton

Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment considered for hydration and skin quality rather than targeted facial contouring. Consultations and treatment are provided by Dr Sing at Buxton Dental.

Suitability and contraindications

Adults aged 18 and over, subject to individual assessment. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection and known ingredient allergy rule treatment out. Other conditions, medicines and recent procedures need assessment.

Expectations, limitations and risks

It may improve the appearance of hydration and elasticity, but is not a facelift and cannot reliably correct substantial sagging. Raised injection points, swelling, tenderness and bruising may occur. Infection, allergy and rare vascular complications are possible with injectable treatments. A course is often considered and changes develop gradually. Response and duration vary, so maintenance should depend on review rather than a fixed promise.

Aftercare and review

Avoid touching injection sites, make-up initially, intense exercise and excessive heat as advised. Seek prompt clinical advice for worsening pain, redness or unusual skin colour.
